The V Foundation for Cancer Research, alongside the event’s presenting partner Braswell Family Farms, is proud to announce that the 5th annual Victory Ride to Cure Cancer raised over $325,000 for cancer research. The event took place on Saturday, May 21, with over 700 participants coming together to ride or volunteer in celebration or honor of loved ones affected by cancer. The fundraising from this year’s event brings the five-year total for the Victory Ride to over $1.3 million raised for innovative cancer research through the V Foundation.

“We had a blast participating in the Victory Ride this year, and for a worthy cause to boot.” said Trey Braswell, fourth generation president of Braswell Family Farms. “It’s hard to beat the excitement the event generates. We are so thankful for the families willing to share their stories about cancer and how it has impacted them. Cancer is personal to us, and through The Victory Ride we partner to see Victory Over Cancer. Keep running the race.”

Participants who rode in the ride had the options of 10-, 30-, 60-, and 100-mile routes with volunteers providing support throughout the selected routes. As presenting partner for the fourth year, Braswell Family Farms was proud to provide breakfast to all riders, event staff and volunteers for all-day energy. Additionally, Braswell provided eggs for those riders passing by rest stops throughout their routes. In celebration of the completed ride, all Victory Ride participants enjoyed food trucks, music, craft beer and community at NC State’s Centennial Campus.

Throughout the year, Braswell has supported the Victory Ride riders and mission partners in preparations for the event. In April, Braswell hosted a training ride for its employees and residents of Nashville at their headquarters. Additionally, Braswell Family Farms delivered Easter baskets to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Duke Cancer Institute and the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health Comprehensive Cancer Center–supporting researchers, caregivers, healthcare providers and those who are currently going through treatment.
