Artificial intelligence could help poultry house ventilation systems maintain optimal conditions to improve yield efficiency, animal welfare and conserve energy.

“Rather than having to program and tell the controls how it needs to run, we simply have to input our set points and the system is able to learn on its own by testing and learning how each fan inlet and each heater affects the temperature and humidity inside the room,” Erik Longtin, sales director, Agrimesh Technologies, said.

Learn more about this technology at the 2022 Poultry Tech Summit, scheduled for October 30 - November 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. This one-of-a-kind in-person event facilitates the transition of innovation technologies from researchers and entrepreneurs into commercial applications for the benefit of the poultry industry. Make plans to attend and take a look at the future of the industry.

Comprehensive equipment management

Using artificial intelligence, the matrix ventilation system incorporates data from weather forecasts and the outside to manage the ventilation, heating, feed, water, lighting, temperature and CO2 equipment.

The system operates in three modes: production mode, ECO mode and preparation mode. Producers input the temperature and humidity, as well as the arrival and exit date of the birds. At this point, the system will automatically configure itself to be at these settings once the birds arrive.

This creates a stable environment inside the poultry house, which can help lead to savings in energy consumption and help improve animal welfare.

“A less stressed bird will have a better digestive system, a better feed conversion and lower mortality,” added Longtin.
