The merger of the Iowa Poultry Association (IPA) and the Chicken and Egg Association of Minnesota (CEAM) is effective July 1, 2022, creating an industry leader in poultry associations.
The combined association will operate under North Central Poultry Association (NCPA) and headquarters will be located in Urbandale, Iowa.
Late in 2021, both the IPA and CEAM boards directed a merger study committee addressing the details of merging the two organizations. NCPA will have 14 board members with appropriate representation from both Iowa and Minnesota.
For the last two years, IPA has managed the day to day needs of CEAM. IPA and CEAM names will continue to exist and may be used for specific outreach in each state. “Members from both states will now have full access to the events, communications and industry opportunities of both individual former associations,” shared Kevin Stiles, Executive Director of NCPA.
“This merger will allow us to better serve our producers and allied members, through streamlining work for the staff of NCPA,” said IPA President Dr. Craig Rowles. “We are excited to continue our work as a joint association.”
“This merger is an exciting time for the poultry and egg industry in our two states,” said CEAM President, Scott Waldner. “We look forward to our partnership with our friends to the south.”
Members from the newly formed organization will gather for a formal celebration at the North Central Poultry Association Fall Festival and Annual Meeting September 20-22 in West Des Moines, Iowa.
