Moy Park makes donation to Extern Northern Ireland

Moy Park makes donation to Extern Northern Ireland.

Extern Northern Ireland has been awarded funding by leading food company Moy Park to help expand its work within the local community.

Operating since 1978, Extern transforms lives as a leading social justice charity and supports children, young people and families to overcome challenges, empower positive change and support family unity.

The funding received from Moy Park will be used to support previous service users of the MUST Hostel based in Cookstown who are ready to develop independence from Extern's services and to acquire the confidence and life skills to sustain a tenancy.

Grace O'Neill, fundraising manager at Extern, said: "We are delighted to receive this funding from Moy Park.

"Many of the individuals who come to the MUST Hostel have been homeless for some time or have been living on the street. All have experienced a crisis at some point in their lives that has led to them losing the networks that we all rely on in times of trouble.

"Moy Park’s grant will help Extern to provide Starter Packs for some of the service users who are ready to prepare for a tenancy after a period of homelessness. The pack will consist of the basic items they need, essentials which many of us take for granted and which will ensure they are offered the best start possible to this new phase in their lives."

Applications to apply for a grant from the Moy Park Community Support Fund can be made via Moy Park’s website: https://moypark.com/community-support.
