MAPI accepting scholarship applications.

Michigan Allied Poultry Industry (MAPI) announced its fourth annual fall scholarship program this week, aimed at encouraging college students to pursue careers in the poultry industry and supporting their education. The organization is now accepting applications for the $1,500 scholarships through October 15.

The MAPI scholarship is available to undergrad or grad students actively pursuing a career in a poultry-focused agricultural field or business, with the intent to provide financial assistance to future leaders in the Michigan poultry industry. Applicants must have completed a related summer internship in the year that they are applying for scholarship funds.

“As the global population grows, so does the need for local and affordable protein,” said Allison Brink, MAPI executive director. “Careers in this industry are poised to grow, and we want to ensure we are continuing to build a strong pipeline of talented students in Michigan to continue the growth of our Michigan farms.”
