Ukrainian agrifood company MHP produced about 8% less poultry in July than it did in June, and about 19% less than it did in July 2021, the company revealed in a monthly operational update. However, its domestic sales volume were on par with the volumes sold in the Ukraine on both a year-over-year and month-over-month basis.
“Since the beginning of the Russian war in Ukraine, the company has been facing complex challenges and disruptions, which, primarily, resulted in a decrease in capacity utilization of poultry production,” the company stated. “Since April, the company has been extensively developing alternative routes to resume and continue exports. As of today, export of all proteins from Ukraine continues to be extremely challenging and requires 24/7 attention and management.”
Poultry production for July was recorded at 52,039 metric tons, compared to the June figure of 56,767 metric tons, and the July 2021 figure of 63,982 metric tons.
Poultry sales volumes for July amounted to 56,543 metric tons -- 4% higher than they were in June, but 12% less than they were in July 2021. The changes in domestic sales volumes were only very slight ones, but the export sales volumes for July were down 20% when compared to July of the previous year. However, export sales volumes for July were 3% higher than they were in June.
Sunflower, soybean oils
The company also reported a huge decrease in the sale of soybean oil for July. The 1,167 metric tons sold in July represented a decline of 82% when compared to the sales for July of the previous year, and a decline of 71% when compared to June.
However, sunflower oil sales rose for July. The company sold 22,555 metric tons of the product for the month, 92% more than it did one year ago and 13% more than it did a month ago.
