Mountaire Farms is excited to announce a brand-new scholarship program aimed at helping students interested in careers that help feed the world. As the last few years have shown, the food industry is an important part of our essential businesses that help keep us healthy, safe and fed. This scholarship will help students interested in agriculture, culinary arts and food service to pursue a college degree and achieve their dreams of finding a career that matters.
10 students will win each year
WBOC and Mountaire Farms will select one Delmarva high school senior every month September through June. Each winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be featured on WBOC-TV and FOX21.
Two of the monthly winners will receive an additional $2,500 scholarship at the end of the program during a dinner banquet where all the winners and their families will be invited to celebrate their accomplishments.
Criteria
Be nominated by an educator or school representative (must include letter of reference; multiple letters welcome)
Attach a copy of transcriptt
Resume/other supporting documents encouraged but not required
Maintain a B-average or better
Be a graduating senior at a school on Delmarva
Be an active participant in agriculture or culinary programs
Exhibit community leadership (volunteerism, extracurriculars, etc.)
