Mark L. Schiller, who as the president and CEO of Hain Celestial oversaw the divestiture of the company’s Hain Pure Protein business segment, is stepping down from his current roles and will become a non-executive director of the company’s board.

Schiller will be succeeded by Wendy P. Davidson, whose experience in the food industry includes leadership roles with Tyson Foods, the Kellogg Company and McCormick & Company. The leadership transition will be effective January 1, 2013.

“On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to thank Mark for his unwavering commitment and leadership during his four-year tenure as CEO,” Dawn Zier, chair of the Hain Celestial board, said in a press releasee. “Mark has played an instrumental role in simplifying the Company and instilling greater operational discipline throughout the organization, and we are foundationally stronger as a result. We look forward to his continued contributions and insights as a member of our board.”

“We are excited to welcome Wendy as our new CEO. … She is the right choice to lead Hain Celestial through its next phase of growth, and under her guidance, we look forward to the company delivering strong operating results and generating long-term shareholder value.”

Schiller became the president and CEO in November 2018, succeeding Irwin Simon, who founded the company.

During Schiller’s tenure with Hain Celestial, he saw the divestiture of its Hain Pure Protein segment, which was split and sold. The turkey operations were sold to a startup investor group known as Plainville Brands LLC in February 2019, while the chicken operations were sold to Aterian Investment Partners in July 2019.

Davidson worked for Tyson Foods in various leadership roles from 1998 to 2009, with her serving as the senior vice president and general manager of Tyson’s Prepared Foods division, according to her LinkedIn profile.

"I am delighted and honored by the opportunity to lead Hain Celestial at this exciting time in the company’s history,” said Davidson. “Hain’s global portfolio of organic and natural brands is authentic and beloved by consumers.”
