Kazakhstan establishes import quotas

Limits for pork and poultry set

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture has announced the introduction of tariff quotas on imports of meat, including poultry and pork, as of January 1, 2010.

The quota for 2010 will be 110,000 tonnes for poultry, and 7,400 tonnes for pork. The organizations in Kazakhstan that will receive quotas will be announced after the government approves applications processed by customs control and tax committees.

The quotas were established by the EurAsEC customs committee on November 27, 2009. EurAsEC is the customs committee established by Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
