Poultry vaccine technology with automated data collection could simplify decisions related to flock health and productivity.

“Typically, when we look at the results from a specific flock – assuming we can even identify the flock – it’s usually too late in the game,” Assaf Shafran, vice president, Phibro Animal Health, general manager, pHi-Tech, explained at the 2022 Poultry Tech Summit.

Automating the poultry vaccination process

Vaccines are critical to keeping poultry flocks heathy, however they are only effective if given properly. There are strict requirements when it comes to the storage, dosage and administration of vaccines and many problems with vaccination can be directly attributed to human error.

“We’ve developed a technology that can meet that challenge with a smart system that helps operators to inject without getting tired, without affecting their safety and with fewer mistakes so we can get every shot as intended,” Shafran added.

Injection technology with integrated data collection on every vaccine application helps provide real-time oversight of crew performance. This allows team leaders to set and easily share the required parameters for a vaccination program with all the stakeholders involved.

Veterinarians and farm managers can analyze the collected data quickly through a dashboard in the cloud, which leads to a better understanding of the causes of reduced flock immunity.

In addition, the technology features an electro-mechanical auto injector, which ensures that the dosage is correct every time and can minimize the likelihood of manual error.

Attend the 2023 Poultry Tech Summit
