Illinois Soybean Association sponsors scholarships

Supports studies in crop sciences with $50,000 of awards

Students planning to pursue a degree in crop sciences at the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences are eligible to apply for a four-year scholarship sponsored by the Illinois Soybean Association.

The scholarship provides recipients $12,000 during the first year of study, followed by $10,000 per year for up to three additional years if renewal criteria are met. To help reduce the cost of tuition, recipients will receive additional assistance worth up to $8,000 over four years. Scholarships may be used for tuition, fees and other educational expenses.

Scholarship applications for the semester beginning Fall 2010 are due to the University of Illinois by January 15, 2010, for incoming freshmen and March 1, 2010, for incoming transfer students. Potential applicants may contact Jason Emmert, assistant dean of academic programs, at +1.217.244.4540 for more information.
