Chick-fil-A Supply, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A, will establish a market distribution center in Olathe, Kansas.

“The Kansas City area is a prime location to invest in our business, create jobs, and grow our supply chain operation,” said Josh Grote, executive director, Chick-fil-A Supply. “The region has a deep pool of skilled talent that we know will excel in serving the franchise Operators, licensees and team members delivering an authentic Chick-fil-A experience at each of our locations.”

“We are thrilled that Chick-fil-A Supply has chosen Olathe to open its distribution center,”  added Tim McKee, CEO of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce. “The City of Olathe and the Olathe Chamber have had a great, long-standing relationship with Chick-fil-A and look forward to seeing that relationship continue. This investment in our market is another big win for our community and Chamber.”

The 148,000 square foot facility is slated to begin full scale operations in early 2024. It will create 60 jobs and cost $31 million.

This is Chick-fil-A's fifth distribution center in the U.S. and the first in Kansas. More than 85% of the U.S. population can be reached within two days from the Kansas location, which helps create greater flexibility in the supply chain, according to the press release.

“The KC region continues as a leading logistics hub for North America with a number of major companies, including Chick-fil-A Supply, choosing our market for its many industrial advantages,” said Tim Cowden, president and CEO of the Kansas City Area Development Council. “With 12.6 million sq. ft. of new industrial space under construction in the KC market at the end of last year, our KC SmartPort team is focused on elevating our region’s comprehensive strengths to attract manufacturing and distribution businesses from around the world.”

The quick service brand, known primarily for their chicken sandwiches, also recently announced plans to expand into Europe and Asia.
