A Tyson Foods hatchery in Hope, Arkansas will be getting an upgrade to improve operational efficiency and increase capacity.
The $70 million investment will replace the existing facility with a state-of-the-art, 131,000-square-foot hatchery with construction expected to wrap up by late 2024.
“We continually strive to unlock the next level of excellence in quality and service to our customers,” said Donnie King, president and CEO of Tyson Foods. “This investment is another way to demonstrate our long-term commitment to our home state of Arkansas and the Hope and Nashville communities.”
All Tyson employees at the current Hope facility will be transferred to the new one, in addition to new hires, once construction is completed. Tyson will also be looking for more local poultry farms to contract with who are, or can build, within 30 to 50 miles of the Hope hatchery.
Other Tyson projects
Since Tyson’s headquarters are in Springdale, Arkansas, the company invests in cities across the state. In the past year, Tyson has invested over $240 million into their Arkansas locations; for example, it invested $67 million in Hempstead County, which will help build a new feed mill.
Tyson Foods is the second largest poultry producer in the world and the largest in the U.S. with 1,882 million head slaughtered annually, according to WATTPoultry.com’s Top Companies database.
