DSM Nutritional Products has signed a joint venture agreement with Tatenergo JSC for the construction of an animal nutrition premix plant in the Republic of Tatarstan in western Russia. The plant is scheduled to open in early 2011.
"Partnering with Tatenergo is a key step in the global expansion of our premix facilities. It fits perfectly with our strategic growth objective of business development in the Russian Federation," said Leendert H. Staal, chief executive officer and president of DSM Nutritional Products.
Ilshat Fardiev, CEO of Tatenergo, said, "We consider this as the start of a strategic partnership with the ultimate goal of introducing new state-of-the-art methods and standards into agribusiness of Tatarstan. It will also leverage the role of Tatarstan as a supplier of feed and animal protein to the Russian Federation."
