Roger Lien, associate professor of poultry science at Auburn (Ala.) University's College of Agriculture, has joined the advisory board of LED lighting development and manufacturing company Once Innovations. Lien will assist Once Innovations in the ongoing development, testing and research of poultry-specific LED lighting.
Lien has worked on the effects of light on poultry since the 1980s. He has conducted numerous research trials investigating the effects of photoperiod and light intensity on the live and processing performance of broilers, breeders and turkeys. In 2004, he was named one of the nation'stop university poultry science professors by the Poultry Science Association.
