Pennine Environmental Services announces refrigeration contracts

Will provide systems to increase production at two UK poultry processors

UK refrigeration engineering firm Pennine Environmental Services Ltd. has recently received contracts totaling more than £4M from two U.K. poultry processors.

The new contracts are both for Pennine’s Ventstream chilling systems, which are used to quickly chill chicken from post-evisceration temperatures to less than 4C with minimal dehydration. The systems comprise two parts, conveyors and the refrigeration plant.

The contracts include one £2.5M order to help the contracting company increase poultry production 30% to 12,000 carcasses per hour. The order also includes the replacement of R22 refrigerant with R717 to comply with the latest EU regulations.

The goal of the second contract is to help the contracting company increase production by 20%.
