DuPont forms advisory committee on agricultural innovation

Tom Daschle to chair committee

DuPont today announced the creation of an advisory committee on agricultural innovation and productivity, chaired by Tom Daschle, former U.S. senator from South Dakota. Building upon existing research, The advisory committee will examine public policy mechanisms to ensure that the world's farmers have the tools to meet growing global food and fuel needs.

Daschle, who served as senate majority leader, said the committee will focus on scientific and technological advances, a competitive marketplace and collaboration among agricultural stakeholders to meet the needs of a world population that is expected to grow to 9 billion in 2050.
