The National Turkey Federation has named Foster Farms’ Yubert Envia as its new chairman. As the organization’s leader, Envia will represent the interests of the $8B turkey industry and will present President Barack Obama with the national Thanksgiving turkey in November.

Envia is the vice president of turkey and prepared foods for family-owned Foster Farms and has spent more than 21 years in the poultry business. He oversees Foster Farms’ two turkey processing facilities, a feed mill, turkey grow-out ranches and the live-haul operation in Turlock, Calif., as well as the company’s three breeder facilities and two hatcheries in Northern and Southern California. He also directs all prepared foods production and operations.

Envia said he is optimistic about the future of the turkey industry and looks forward to leading the National Turkey Federation through collaborative advancements.
