“The future of agriculture is in education,” said Pearse Lyons, president and founder of animal health company Alltech. “As leaders within the agricultural industry, it is our job to engage and educate the next generation on the important role of agriculture in our lives and to nurture a passion for our industry.” Alltech supports two educational programs: theAlltech Young Scientist Award, an annual international competition for undergraduate and graduate students focusing on animal feed technologies, agricultural developments or agriculture management; and AlltechKidzone, an interactive Web site that provides children and teachers with information on farming, food and the environment.
