Two board members of value-added poultry processor Townsends Inc. have also been named executive officers. Frederick B. Beilstein has been appointed chief executive officer and Michael P. Schall is president of sales and marketing.
Beilstein is a managing partner in Equicorp Partners LLC, an Atlanta, Ga.-based private investment firm that principally invests in franchised restaurant companies. He is the former chief executive officer and chief financial officer of AFC Enterprises Inc., the franchisor of Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits and former franchisor of Church's Chicken.
Schall most recently served as senior vice president of Monterey Gourmet Foods and was a member of its board of directors from 2000 to 2008. Prior to joining Monterey Gourmet, he served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Wise Potato Chips, and was president and chief executive officer of the B. Manischewitz Company, a marketer of kosher food.
