UK National Butchers Week highlights sustainability

Week will honor ‘green’ butchers

In response to claims that livestock production and eating meat are contributing to climate change, the third annual National Butchers Week in the United Kingdom will focus on green issues, according to MRC, one of the week's sponsors.

National Butchers Week, which takes place March 15-20, will pay tribute to butchers who source meat from locally reared animals, actively work toward reducing energy consumption and who adopt ongoing recycling programs.
