The National Grain and Feed Association has elected Hal Reed of Ohio as its new chairman. Reed previously served two-year terms as first and second vice chairman, respectively. He is president of the Grain and Ethanol Group at The Andersons Inc., Maumee, Ohio, a diversified company founded in 1947.
In his capacity as president of The Andersons’ Grain and Ethanol Group, Reed oversees the operations of 20 grain terminal elevators with a combined storage capacity exceeding 100 million bushels. The Andersons’ grain facilities ship more than 300 million bushels annually, primarily in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. He also oversees The Andersons’ investments in three ethanol plant limited liability corporations.
Other new officers elected at the association’s recent national convention include:
- David R. Hoogmoed as first vice chairman. Hoogmoed is executive vice president of Land O’Lakes Inc., Shoreview, Minn., and chief operating officer for feed for Land O’Lakes Purina Feed LLC. Hoogmoed is a 30-year veteran of the feed industry.
- Bailey Ragan as second vice chairman. Ragan is vice president and general manager of Bunge Grain, St. Louis, Mo., where he oversees all operational and commercial activities of one of Bunge North America’s six business units.
Kendell W. Keith, continues as the association’s president, the top executive staff officer. Each of these officers also serves on the National Grain and Feed Association’s board of directors and executive committee.
At the annual convention, members of the National Grain and Feed Association also elected 15 industry members to serve on its 60-member board of directors.
