BiOWiSH Technologies appoints senior EVP

Ian Smith to facilitate company’s entrance into animal agriculture market

BiOWiSH Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of microbial and enzyme-based products, has appointed Ian Smith as senior executive vice president for global animal agriculture.

Smith will lead the company’s entry into the international animal agriculture market, focusing on wastewater treatment, odor and emissions control and animal health. His responsibility also includes the horticulture and aquaculture business segments.

Smith has extensive experience in international trade across a broad range of industries. Prior to this appointment, he was Australian Trade Commissioner for the Midwest region of the United States and team leader for the Australian Trade Commission’s agribusiness and consumer strategies. He has held other senior roles within the Australian Government, including implementation manager for the Australia-US Free Trade Agreement.

Early in his career, Smith worked in the private sector in Australia, particularly for animal health, biotech and nutrition companies to register, commercialize and launch new products.

Smith has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science from Sydney University and a graduate diploma in business studies from the University of New England.
