Tapco co-founder retires

Ted Beaty expanded elevator bucket maufacturer’s export business

Tapco Inc., St. Louis, Mo., has announced the retirement of its executive vice president and co-founder, Ted W. Beaty. Beatty started the elevator bucket manufacturer with Paul D. Taylor in 1974.

 Beaty initiated the company’s export operations to Mexico and Canada in 1990 and expanded distribution in Australia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the Philippines. Tapco now exports to more than 50 countries. Under Beaty’s leadership, Tapco earned the Missouri Agricultural Exporter of the Year award in 1993.

“I’m leaving with the best crew we have ever had in every department,” Beaty said.
