Opti Chicks, the newest customer of poultry genetics company Cobb South Africa, is now producing 500,000 chicks weekly in the Lichtenburg hatchery that it opened last autumn.

Opti Chicks is a new company started by agricultural business NWK to supply day-old chicks to the North West province, the biggest broiler-growing area of South Africa. Vertically integrated chicken producer Rainbow Farms has contracted with Opti Chicks to purchase most of its chicks.
