Allen Family Foods has announced plans to expand its Harbeson, Del., processing facility. According to a company press release, Allen’s will ramp up weekly production from 1 million chickens to 1.2 million chickens by September 2010. It plans additional increases in 2011 and 2012.
“We are proud of our business growth and look forward to expanding our operations further,” said Bob Turley, president and chief executive officer of Allen’s.
The initial expansion will create 70 new jobs, and further expansion through 2012 could result in another 200 jobs, the company press release said.
