The USDA APHIS General Conference Committee will meet on Aug. 31 in preparation for the 40th Biennial Conference to be held Sept. 1 and 2, in San Diego. The topics of concern will include Salmonella enteritidis in meat-type chickens, procedures to isolate and identify Salmonella spp, avian influenza and mycoplasmosis.
The General Conference Committee of the National Poultry Improvement Plan represents the poultry industry and cooperating state agencies and serves as a liaison between the poultry industry and the Department of Agriculture.
