Turkey producer Butterball LLC was recognized by the Joint Industry Safety and Health Council at the recent 2010 National Safety Conference for the Poultry Industry. Recognitions included the “Award of Honor,” and “Award of Distinction,” the group’s highest honor.
Five Butterball’s facilities were recognized. Earning the Award of Distinction were a feed mill in Alix, Ark., and plants in Huntsville, Ark., Ozark, Ark. and Mt. Olive, N.C. A facility in Carthage, Mo., received the Award of Honor. The council recognizes chicken and turkey companies that have put in place effective worker safety programs.
