Dynamic Fuels plant ready to begin operating

Dynamic Fuels is ready to start producing renewable fuels from animal fats and greases at its new plant in Geismar, La., the company announced. The first fats have been delivered to the facility and production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2010.

Dynamic Fuels is ready to start producing renewable fuels from animal fats and greases at its new plant in Geismar, La., the company announced. The first fats have been delivered to the facility and production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2010.

The firm, a joint venture of Tyson Foods Inc. and Syntroleum Corp., is designed to convert fats, greases and oils supplied by Tyson into as much as 75 million gallons of renewable fuels per year. The plant filled 44 permanent full-time jobs and maintains 13 full-time start-up support personnel.
