Nominations sought for microbiological advisory group

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service seeks nominations for membership in the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Foods. Nominations are sought by Aug. 9 for those with expertise in epidemiology, food technology, microbiology, toxicology, chemistry, risk assessment, infectious disease, biostatistics and other related sciences.

Nominations are sought by Aug. 9 for those with expertise in epidemiology, food technology, microbiology, toxicology, chemistry, risk assessment, infectious disease, biostatistics and other related sciences.

Since 1988, the committee has been providing scientific advice and recommendations to the secretaries of agriculture and health and human services on food safety. It also helps the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the departments of commerce and defense.
