Faerch Plast steps up commitment to reducing environmental impact
Hopes to achieve 100% renewable resource energy consumption by 2013
Faerch Plast has dedicated itself to minimizing its environmental impact for 14 years and hopes to accomplish the goal of having all its energy come from renewable resources by 2013.
So far, company changes have resulted in energy consumption being reduced by 29% since 1996. In addition, "we fulfilled our own target that renewable energy should account for more than 40% of all energy consumption in 2009," said Faerch CEO Lars Gade, "and we are confident of meeting this year's target of 53%."
Faerch also hopes to reduce raw material consumption by 30% by 2013. The company's total environmental impact, measured using CO2 equivalents, has been reduced by more than 50% since 1996.
