Australia introduces egg safety rules

Australian producers of more than 100 dozen eggs per week will be required to conform to new regulations involving biosecurity, egg washing, traceability and control of rodents. The regulations were originally opposed by small-scale producers but the government wants to upgrade the standard of safety and avert possible egg-borne infection.
