Lesaffre Feed Additives gets approval for Actisaf Sc 47

The European Commission has approved Lesaffre Feed Additives' Actisaf Sc 47 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae NCYC Sc 47) as a zootechnical additive and gut flora stabilizer. The authorization, which came about at the last Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health vote, places Actisaf Sc 47 as the only yeast permanently authorized in seven ruminant categories.

The authorization, which came about at the last Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health vote, places Actisaf Sc 47 as the only yeast permanently authorized in seven ruminant categories. It is specific to calves for rearing, from birth to four months. According to the company, Actisaf Sc 47 reduces digestive disorders and problems with weaning and improves zootechnical performances.
