Mo. poultry farm quarantined due to avian flu

A southwest Missouri Polk County poultry farm has been quarantined after a case of avian flu was found during routine testing, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture. The quarantine covers the affected birds and flocks within a six-mile radius of the farm.

The quarantine covers the affected birds and flocks within a six-mile radius of the farm. The agriculture department said it's rare for humans to be affected by the strain of low pathogenic avian flu discovered.

The name of the farm has not yet been released.
