J.S. West is now offering video monitoring of the J.S. West enriched colony systems with the "hen cam." The video stream is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
There are six camera views plus vertical and side views of the installation. It is possible to view the movement of hens and to observe feeding and perching behavior. A series of comments from viewers are appended to the view and most are positive, reflecting satisfaction with the system as assessed by laypersons and consumers.
The enriched colony systems are certified by the American Humane Association.
