XVII World Veterinary Poultry Association Congress in Mexico

The XVII Congress of the World Veterinary Poultry Association to be held from August 14-18 this year in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is approaching at a rapid pace. For poultry vets, it will be an event of great significance, given that it coincides with the World Veterinary Year, declared by the World Veterinary Association. Companies such as Merial, Ceva, Alltech, Biomin, Novus, IASA, Cobb, Synbiotics, Boehringer, Intervet, Alaso, Phibro, Avimex and Pfizer, among others, have confirmed their participation.

The XVII Congress of the World Veterinary Poultry Association to be held from August 14-18 this year in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is approaching at a rapid pace. For poultry vets, it will be an event of great significance, given that it coincides with the World Veterinary Year, declared by the World Veterinary Association.

According to the organizers, more than 90% of the rooms at the congress hotel have already been sold – suggesting a strong attendance. Furthermore, in the expo area companies such as Merial, Ceva, Alltech, Biomin, Novus, IASA, Cobb, Synbiotics, Boehringer, Intervet, Alaso, Phibro, Avimex and Pfizer, among others, have confirmed their participation.

The conference consists of courses, symposia, workshops, oral and poster presentations. Speakers including Hafez M. Hafez, Erica Spackman, Richard Ducatelle, Randy Sunger, Kira Klasing and Guillermo Zavala, to name a few, are already lined up for the event.

On Sunday, August 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., three pre-congress courses will be held and the expo area will open. On August 15, the conference opens, beginning with keynote presentations, poster presentations and the first symposium of the diamond sponsor. From August 16-18, in addition to the diamond keynote presentations and symposia, at least 88 papers are scheduled to be presented.

The poster presentations come from countries including: South Africa, Belgium, Jordan, Poland, Sweden, Mexico, China, Argentina, Italy, Japan, Russia, Egypt, Iran, Ukraine, Spain, and the Philippines, demonstrating the wide variety of participants.

This extensive program is complemented by other activities, including as tourism excursions. These include visits to the Mayan archaeological sites of Cobá, Chichen Itzá, Tulúm and Ek Balam.The colonial city of Valladolid is also on the itinerary, as are recreation centres such as Isla Mujeres and the park Wet 'n Wild.

The WVPA and host organisation, the National Association of Poultry Science Specialists, ANECA of Mexico, invite all industry professionals and interested parties to attend this Congress.
