Animal feed ingredient companies Lallemand Animal Nutrition and Filozoo Italy recently held a scientific symposium on the role of plant fibers in dairy production in Bologna, Italy.
The event, “Fiber: a key element for dairy production profitability?” featured dairy nutrition and microbiology experts from around the world, along with more than 300 participants from Italy and 24 other countries. The seminar aimed to develop new feeding strategies and herd management practices to increase Income Over Feed Cost, with discussions on fiber digestion and utilization by ruminants as well as non-dietary factors like animal development at early stages.
Lallemand says it compiled recommendations from the symposium into a document that will be made available to animal nutritionists and farmers. The symposium's full proceedings are available on Lallemand's website.
