A decision in the antitrust case against BRF Brasil Foods has been postponed until July 13 by Brazil's antitrust agency, according to reports.

Board members and the company have both requested more time to come up with alternatives to an outright rejection of the merger of Perdigao SA and Sadia SA that created Brasil Foods in 2009. The leading member of the antitrust agency has already voted against the merger, and other members have indicated that they will follow his lead.
