COFCO purchases shares in China dairy company

COFCO Group purchased nearly HK$3.6 billion in shares of Mengniu Dairy Co., Ltd., according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Center, increasing its stakes 28.04% and further stabilizing its role as the single largest shareholder of Mengniu. The 142 million shares were purchased on July 11, each share worth HK$26.265.

COFCO Group purchased nearly HK$3.6 billion in shares of Mengniu Dairy Co., Ltd., according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Center, increasing its stakes 28.04% and further stabilizing its role as the single largest shareholder of Mengniu.

The 142 million shares were purchased on July 11, each share worth HK$26.265. Through this deal, COFCO's proportion of equity in Mengniu rose 8.12%.
