Maple Leaf Foods reported net earnings of $24.6 million for the second quarter of 2011, compared to $4.9 million during the same time in 2010. 

Sales for the second quarter of 2011 decreased 3% to $1.24 billion compared to $1.27 billion in 2010, primarily due to business divestitures. After adjusting for the impact of divestitures and the impact of a stronger Canadian dollar, sales increased by 4%.
