Turkey production drops as producers face oversupply

The top turkey companies experienced their greatest year-over-year decline in production since the avian influenza outbreak in 2015.
As a whole, the top U.S. turkey companies produced 60 million less pounds of live turkeys in 2018 after increasing production in 2016 and 2017. That’s the steepest decline since the avian influenza outbreak of 2015.
