To help those people looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for their loved ones, Tyson Foods is bringing back Nuggets of Love for retail distribution throughout the U.S.

Available for a limited time, these heart-shaped chicken nuggets are a heartfelt way to celebrate the holiday with sweethearts, friends and family, according to a blog on the company’s website.

“If the way to one’s heart is really through the stomach, then Nuggets of Love are must-have this year. There’s no better way to celebrate the season of love than with a heart-shaped chicken nugget,” said Colleen Hall, senior director of marketing at Tyson brand.

“That’s why we’re making it easier than ever for fans to get their hands on these heart-shaped nuggets with expanded distribution nationwide.”

Nuggets of Love are pre-cooked, lightly breaded chicken nuggets made of 100% white meat raised with no antibiotics ever.

For fans wanting additional Valentine’s Day inspiration, the Tyson Brand Instagram page will share a variety of Valentine’s-inspired cards. (My favorite so far – which in fairness could be influenced by the -5 ℉ windchill outside – is “My perfect partner warms my heart and preheats the oven.”)

More opportunities for holiday-themed nuggets

Tyson has a history of holiday-themed chicken nuggets. To celebrate Halloween 2022, the company released Tyson Spooky Nuggets, shaped like pumpkins, bats and ghosts. At the time, my colleague called the lack of a national rollout a missed opportunity, explaining that “kids love their nuggets, and especially those that come in fun shapes. And let’s be honest, a lot of adults do too.”

In addition, ThanksNuggets, made by Perdue Farms, combined all the flavors of Thanksgiving into drumstick- and turkey-shaped nuggets.

I agree and although there are plenty of examples of holiday marketing gone wrong – I’m talking about KFC Germany's poorly thought out Kristallnacht promotion – there are lots of opportunities for holiday- and seasonally-themed nuggets.

I hope this is something that we continue to see for future holidays.
