After having operations disrupted at three of its plants because of complications brought on by Hurricane Helene, all House of Raeford Farms facilities are now back in production.

Company spokesman Dave Witter said its plant in Greenville, South Carolina, resumed operations for all shifts on October 2 after electrical power to the facility was restored.

Previously, the company’s plants in West Columbia, South Carolina, and Vienna, Georgia, had been offline since the hurricane hit, but operations resumed at both facilities on September 30.

Headquartered in Rose Hill, North Carolina, House of Raeford Farms is the ninth largest poultry producer in the United States. During the past year, the company produced 31.1 million pounds of ready-to-cook chicken on a weekly basis, according to the WATTPoultry.com Top Poultry Companies Database.

House of Raeford also ranks as the world’s 108th largest feed producer, having produced 1.35 metric tons of feed during the past year.

Helene has limited impact on Tyson Foods

A spokesperson for Tyson Foods on October 1 reported that Hurricane Helene caused “minimal damage” to its facilities and did not impede its ability to continue food production.

The company is now working to support impacted communities and mobilizing support for those in need. It has deployed its Meals that Matter program to serve hot meals to people in affected areas.
