Thailand’s poultry exports hit record high

During the third quarter of 2024, Thai poultry exports reached 320,000 metric tons.

The third quarter of 2024 brought record highs for poultry exports from Thailand, noted the Rabobank Global Poultry Quarterly 2025 report.

According to the report, which was released on January 9, poultry export volumes reached a record 320,000 metric tons during the third quarter, an increase of 11% when compared to the third quarter of the previous year.

For the first three months of the year, export volumes reached 920,000 metric tons, which was a 6% year-over-year improvement.

The report noted that processed poultry exports performed particularly well during the first three quarters at 505,000 metric tons, a year-over-year improvement of 14%. The improvement is largely attributed to a strong demand from European markets and from Singapore.

On the flip side, raw/salted chicken trade has been weak.

Signs for more optimism

Global trade for poultry is expected to remain strong, with Japan importing more raw chicken. The report also pointed out that strong potential for Thai chicken exports in numerous markets, including the European Union, United Kingdom, southeast Asia and the Middle East.
