Lallemand Animal Nutrition Levucell SB probiotic yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii CNCM I-1079, helps increase sow feed intake during lactation by balancing the microbiota of the digestive system. The strain was selected to maintain a healthy and balanced gut microflora based on its extensive documentation as a human probiotic. Benefits to sows include improved intestinal transit during peripartum phase, better farrowing conditions, and improved colostrum and milk production/quality. Benefits to piglets include improved vitality at birth, better growth performance during lactation, decreased mortality rate at birth and during lactation, and a lower occurrence of neonatal diarrhea.
Levucell SB is authorized as a feed additive for use in all pigs in the European Union (EU) (Regulation (EU) No. 2019/892 and Regulation (EU) No. 2018/347). It's available for all stages of the swine production cycle including: suckling piglets, pigs for fattening; boars; gilts; sows; and weaned piglets.
