The Organic Materials Review Institute has approved Alltech Sel-Plex 1000 for inclusion in feeds for organic livestock programs across the U.S. Because of its specific organic form, Sel-Plex selenium is better absorbed and retained by the animal, according to the company. Sel-Plex has been reviewed by the FDA and is the first strain-specific form of organic selenium to be approved in the EU for all species. The FDA also has granted notification of Generally Regarded as Safe for the use of Sel-Plex as a human food additive.
