Sow-Comp from WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp is a demand feeding station that allows up to 25 devices to be connected for group management of gestating sows. Each animal is identified at the control computer via ear tag transponder, which adjusts the feed requirements to the individual animal. Accordingly, the feed amount assigned to the sow is dosificated at the trough and once the animal has exhausted its ration, the system switches off the components. The feeding computer is ISO-AgriNet-capable, and is compatible with customary feeding, separating and heat systems, the company says.
