The WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp SF3 self-catching pen does not require mechanical suspension and can be retrofitted into the early model, the SF1. After a sow has entered the pen, the barrier-free locking system immediately releases the locking device. Because following animals are denied entry to the pen, the sow inside can release the locking mechanism on her own and leave the pen, reducing stress. Lever technology, ergonomic construction and a wear-free opening and closing system ensures easy pen release by humans and animals. The spring-free SF3 system prevents corrosion and reduces the need for spare parts and servicing.
