The Asserva materneo automatic sow feeding system for farrowing pens manages raw materials stocks using ultrasonic level sensors. Two different feeds can be managed for each sow and water can be controlled to adjust the feed consistency from the first to the last day. Distributed in 100 gram doses, the feed is monitored by a level sensor that prevents a dose being delivered before the previous dose has been consumed and an alarm indictor shows if a sow is not eating. A computerized video image management system notifies when farmers when farrowing begins, and the Materneo system can be remotely controlled form a computer, tablet or smartphone.
