Probiotech Ind. Pvt. Ltd., part of the Nimbus group, has opened what it says is Nepal’s first soy extraction plant in the municipality of Birgunj. The plant will produce de-oiled soybean cake under the name SoyaMaxx for use in feed. The plant will also produce soybean oil.
The NRs300M plant has a daily capacity of 300 metric tons. The company plans to purchase soybeans from the domestic market and to work with the Nepalese government and agricultural organizations to develop Nepal’s soy sector.
